Have you received a recall notice? If so, your vehicle may no longer be safe to drive. If you’ve gotten a recall, it’s essential to address it with a visit to our GMC service center at Carroll Buick GMC.

What is a Recall?

A car is recalled when either the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) or the manufacturer discovers a defect in the vehicle. This can result from a faulty part, equipment, or a defect in the car itself. If the vehicle no longer meets minimum safety standards or poses a safety risk, the car is recalled.

What Should I Do?

If your vehicle has been recalled, you’ll receive a notice in the mail. If that happens, you need to visit our dealership to have the issue addressed. Whether you need repairs or a part replacement, the cost is covered.

Can I Drive My Vehicle?

In short, it depends. You shouldn’t drive your vehicle if the recall is considered a serious safety risk. Your recall notice will let you know if your car isn’t safe to drive. If it isn’t, contact us, and we can arrange to tow it to the dealership.

Can I Check My Vehicle?

All registered vehicle owners should receive a notification of any recalls by first-class mail. To receive these notifications, your registration needs to be up-to-date. You can also search for your vehicle on your own. Simply use its VIN to check its status on the General Motors or NHTSA websites.
